Does Size Matter?
by Richard Oversmith on 2/1/2010 9:57:49 PM

Last week I completed what is the biggest painting I've ever attempted. At this point I'm not sure how I'm going to transport this thing. The painting "Black Balsam Ascent" is a whopping 48" x 60" (unframed).
This little image in this blog does not do this painting justice. You have to experience this painting first hand to grasp it's full epic glory. Which brings me back to my original question does size matter? YES!!!!!

Hey Richard, I suppose we will have to buy one of those covered utility trailers one day to tote jumbos. And what about frames???

Thanks for the post. I have been doing a lot of snow painting too. And made a recent post also

Fantastic painting!

Even though the canvas is large, the vista itself seems to be so huge that it takes up every available square inch. In the same way that the photo doesn't do the painting justice, a small canvas wouldn't do justice to such a grand view.

I'll look forward to seeing the painting in person if it is on display at some time.

Thank for sharing your work!

Wishing you much success.
