Workshop Outline:
This workshop is designed for beginners and intermediate students to improve their plein air oil painting skills. Students will explore Alla Prima (one session) painting in plein air (outside) in and around the Asheville area. Working on small canvases (6x8, 8x10, 9x12) with large brushes will help students focus on the bigger shapes of a composition. Emphasis will be put on values, edges, and color, and simplifying a composition to create paintings that have unity.

• Portable easel and transportation necessary
